Artha Meris Simbolon was born on Februari 9, 1962. She is the second daughter of a successful businessman named Marihad Simbolon. Artha Meris Simbolon is the President Director of an oil and gas company PT Kaltim Parna Industri (KPI) as well as the President Director of PT Parna Raya. Her father, Marihad Simbolon, was the chief commissioner of PT Kaltim Parna Industri.
SKK Migas bribery issues
In September 2014, Artha Meris Simbolon stumbled upon a case of bribery in a lobbying case related to the decline in gas prices which could impact the bankruptcy of her company, namely PT Kaltim Parna Industri.[1]. This case then brought Artha Meris Simbolon to be a suspect and sentenced to prison for 3 years [2]
Spiritual Experience During Imprisonment
During her sentence in prison, Artha Meris Simbolon experienced many spiritual experiences that drastically changed her. While in prison, Artha Meris actually got closer to God and deepened her religion. She also became a role model among other prisoners. For her good behavior, she received a reduced sentence.
Her career after being released from prison
After being released from prison, Artha Meris Simbolon was preoccupied with making gospel songs and recruiting many other gospel singers in Indonesia. The company she previously held has now been taken over by her father and brother.
Artha Meris Simbolon also often holds charity concerts and holds Christmas celebrations together in prisons and at the Orphanage. What a busy activity that is very different than before she served her sentence.
