Article Spinner

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Article spinners (sometimes called Content Spinners) are software applications which allow the user to alter a piece of pre-existing text for the purpose of creating a new or different version. These types of applications are mostly used by bloggers and web developers as a shortcut to generate new content without writing content from scratch. [1]

The applications use a Thesaurus-type interface, allowing the user to change individual words to synonyms. By changing enough words, it is thought that the new piece of text can pass as an original work or at least a non-duplicate piece of content.

"Spinning" an article is a common method for web developers who lack the ability to write original content. However, some believe the act of spinning articles to increase content may actually be bad for a website in the long run.[2]
