Artificial General Intelligence Research Institute
The Artificial General Intelligence Research Institute (AGIRI) was founded in 2001. Its mission is to "foster the creation of powerful and ethically positive" artificial general intelligence. AGIRI hosts an online forum, publishes material on the development, application and implications for AGI, and hosts AGI workshops in the Washington, D.C. area.
AGIRI is sponsored by Novamente LLC, a for-profit software company based in N. Bethesda, MD.
