Artur Stashevsky

Artur Karlovich Stashevsky (real name Hirschfeld, pseudonyms Verkhovsky, Stepanov; December 24, 1890 – August 21, 1937) was a Soviet special services officer and statesman. Trade representative of the USSR in Spain (1936–1937). Arrested on June 8, 1937, he was shot on August 21, 1937, as part of the Great Purge. Rehabilitated in 1956.
