Arun is a region in southeastern England which is made up of the counties of East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and the Tunbridge-Wells Constituency.
History
The origin of the idea of an Arun region is unknown but is believed to date back to anti-Brexit demonstrations in 2017 when the historical counties of Sussex and Surrey plus the surrounding areas near Royal Tunbridge-Wells started representing the europhiles of southeastern England all around the country. The name Arun seems to be linked to the river Arun, the longest river located entirely within Sussex.
Independence
In January 2020, an independence movement was created for the Region called: "Arun Independence Movement" or often referred to by its acronym: "AIM".
Settlements
Arun's main cities are Brighton, Lewes, Arundel, Royal Tunbridge-Wells ("AIM"'s proposed capital), Oxted, Worthing, Eastbourne, Hastings, Crawley, Woking and others…
Capital city
Arun does not officially have a capital but AIM (Arun Independence Movement) has previously suggested Royal Tunbridge-Wells as a capital city for the region.
Physical Geography
Arun has a temperate climate. Its landscape is mostly made up of small hills, cliffs and rocky beaches… Important rivers symbolically, include: River Arun, River Teise and River Ouse.
