Dr. Arun Kumar is a researcher, author and former professor of economics at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. He specializes in Public Finance, Globalization and Macroeconomics. However, one of his key research focus since late 1970s has been Black Money and its impact on Indian Economics. He has authored books like: "The Black Economy in India" (2002) and "Understanding Black Economy and Black Money" (2017), has given several talks and published papers on the same subject.[1] He is currently Malcolm Adiseshiah Chair Professor at Institute of Social Sciences. == Education and Other Key ==He did his master's in physics from Delhi University and Princeton University, USA, and Phd in economics from JNU. He is also known for his work on Alternative Budgets: 1993-94 and 1994-95 to demonstrate how alternative policies can be formed using available resources. During his tenure at National Institute of Public Finance and Policy he worked on "Aspects of the Black Economy in India" report. He is interviewed frequently by news and media organizations, on the state of economy during and post Demonetization and Covid-19 era.[2][3][4][5]
