As Beautiful as You (Chinese: 你比星光美丽; pinyin: Nǐ Bǐ Xīngguāng Měilì) is a 2024 Chinese television drama starring Tan Songyun and Xu Kai. Directed by Chen Chang, the series is an adaptation of the novel As Beautiful as Starlight by Jiu Yue Xi.[1] The story focuses on female entrepreneurship in the AI healthcare industry and the professional relationship between a tech specialist and an investor.
Synopsis
Ji Xing (Tan Songyun) is a technical talent working for a top IT firm who decides to resign to pursue her dream of starting her own company in the 3D printing and medical AI field. During her entrepreneurial journey, she encounters Han Ting (Xu Kai), a cold and calculated business investor and the CEO of Dongyang Technology.
Han Ting, who has secretly admired Ji Xing since their college days, becomes her mentor and primary investor. While Ji Xing is idealistic and focused on innovation, Han Ting is pragmatic and profit-oriented. The series follows their growth as they navigate hostile business takeovers, technical setbacks, and the evolution of their professional partnership into a deep romantic bond.[2]

Development

Filming
Principal photography took place primarily in Qingdao and Beijing. The filming began in early 2023 and wrapped in June 2023. The modern, high-tech office sets were designed to reflect the futuristic nature of the AI industry.
