Asad Jan
Asad Jan is an Islamabad-based Pakistani Journalist, Media Development Expert, Documentary maker and Digital Space trainer. He also does political and International affairs commentary on Pakistani and International TV, Radio and other mediums. He is currently the Executive Director/Country Director of an International Peacebuilding organization Search for Common Ground Pakistan since April 2021. Before holding this office, Mr. Asad Jan served as Regional Technical Program Advisor Asia for International Media Development Organization Internews and supervised Internews program implementation in Malaysia, Pakistan, Indonesia from April 2019 till March 2021.
He was also Internews Pakistan Country Director from January 2017 till October 2018, Deputy Country Director Internews Pakistan, from December 2014 till December 2016. During his tenure with Internews, Mr. Jan has successfully implemented more than a dozen projects for media development in Pakistan (FATA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Baluchistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan)

Mr. Asad Jan also worked with Equal Access International from October 2013 till December 2014, Worked as Manager Media Development with Internews Network from June 2010 till September 2013, Spokesperson & Communication Specialist at UN Food & Agriculture Organization Pakistan from December 2009-June 2010, Senior Media Officer with USAID funded project of Creative Associate International from April 2008 till December 2009, Professional Journalist - Staff Reporter with Jang Group of Newspaper and Geo TV from May 2002 till April 2008.
Mr. Asad Jan also produced a world-famed thematic documentary on Issues of Women Inheritance Rights in Pakistan, in Urdu language with English subtitles. He also directed another documentary on Early Child Marriages "The Lost Childhood"
Mr. Asad Jan also researched and published Pakistan’s first data journalism study "THE PROMISE AND CHALLENGE OF DATA JOURNALISM: LESSONS FROM PAKISTAN"
