Aschach is a river of Bavaria, Germany.

The Aschach springs east of Bad Aibling near the district of Harthausen [de][1][2] and discharges at the western border of Großkarolinenfeld from the right into the Rott.[1][2]

The Aschach springs in a Young Drift landscape;[3] most of its course lies in peat-covered last glacial sediments of the glacial Rosenheimer lake[3] which was built by melt waters at the end of the Würm glaciation.

Near Großkarolinenfeld, in 2009 and 2010 a 5,000 square metres (54,000 sq ft) large[4] Ausgleichsfläche [de] (compensation area for interventions in nature elsewhere) has been built at the Aschach.[5] It includes the shed-like Insekten-Hotel zur Aschach (insect hotel to the Aschach) for insects, built by children of the local group of the Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland.[4] It is used as a retreat for flora and fauna, but also as a future ecological experience area for the citizens.[4]

The Aschach is incorporated in Großkarolinenfeld's municipal rainwater disposal system, including a retention basin.[6]
