Dr. Asha Sharma is an Indian nurse and an academic who was formerly the Principal of Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing, New Delhi[1] and the former President of Delhi Nursing Council.[2] She currently serves as the vice-president of Indian Nursing Council. [3]

Dr. Asha Sharma obtained her BSc.(Hons.) Nursing, Master of Nursing, M.Phil. in Nursing and Ph.D. in nursing from University of Delhi. She was also awarded a fellowship at the University of Maryland Baltimore.

Professional Career[edit]

In a career spanning more than three decades, Dr. Sharma served Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing New Delhi in various capacities including Vice-Principal and Principal.[4] She was instrumental in introducing the doctoral program in nursing.[5] She was also involved in various national health programs of Government of India. [6] She also served as an expert member in the field on Nursing for the University Grants Commission (India) [7] and the Union Public Service Commission. Dr. Sharma also render her expertise to non-governmental organizations like Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry.[8]
