Ashton Testing Services
Ashton Testing Services (ATS) administers examinations for a variety of organizations and institutions, specializing in computerized examinations. ATS operates two testing facilities, located in Vancouver and Abbotsford in British Columbia, Canada. Ashton Testing Services is a member of the National College Testing Association (NCTA)[1] and the British Columbia Higher Education Testing Association (BCHETA).[2]
History[edit]
Ashton Testing Services[3] was established in 2014 with the opening of the Prometric Test Centre in Vancouver. The 12-seater Prometric lab in downtown Vancouver met the needs of professionals and students pursuing post-secondary education. In 2016 ATS opened the second test centre, a 30-seater lab, at the same location. A year later ATS launched a new location in Abbotsford, a 12-seater lab to meet the demand for CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency English Program) [4] examinations in the Fraser Valley area. In 2018 ATS launched the Prometric Centre in Vancouver. With a capacity of 26 testing stations, this centre is the largest in Canada.
Prometric Centre[edit]
Prometric is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Educational Testing Service (ETS) and a provider of technology-enabled testing and assessment solutions. Ashton Testing Services operates the certified Prometric Test Centre in the Lower Mainland, complying with specific Prometric standards. Prometric Centre at Ashton Testing Services offers testing in the academic field, as well as in business, finances, healthcare and other industries.
Agency examinations[edit]
Ashton Testing Services administers examinations, tests and assessments for various agencies. The centre has partnered with the major providers in testing and examinations, including Prometric, Pearson VUE, Paragon, Yardstick and others. Ashton Testing Services delivers and administers tests to clients in the academic and professional fields.
Proctored examinations[edit]
Ashton Testing Services provides services in proctoring online examinations for students living in Greater Vancouver area. The ATS provides customized proctored assessment and testing. The exams are supervised by an approved Proctor who ensures the identity of the test taker and the integrity of the test-taking environment. Ashton Testing Services accommodates both paper-based and computerized examinations, as well as exams that require more interactive testing formats, such as interviews.
