ASHWYN is an emerging Electronic rock artist from Bangalore/Boston who specializes in making music with catchy melodies and Pink Floyd-inspired guitar solos. He’s had his music featured in Times of India[1] and Rolling Stone[2][3] and received support from International Heavyweights Like Hardwell and Tiësto [4]. Currently enrolled in Berklee College of Music, he’s working on setting up a live act and performing while continuing to improve his vocal skills and production techniques. [5]

Music career

Ashwin was born in Mountain View, California but spent the last 15 years living in Bangalore, India. His parents both worked in a corporate setting, shifting between different tech jobs. His older brother was fascinated by math and he was very into various art forms. During the weekends they all would spend their time playing songs by Pink Floyd together and even writing originals. He also got the opportunity to learn Hindustani music for several years which really taught him what dedication means as a musician. His family was always supportive of his journey as a musician and encouraged him to take this up more seriously by attending the Berklee College of Music. As he ventured deeper into music, he always remembered that this career takes tremendous discipline and perseverance to make it last.[6]

He named himself as Astra in his early music career long back in 2018 and got signed by Revealed Recordings, the label founded by DJ Hardwell. He even released 2 songs Sunset Runaway and Time To Fly with the artist name Astra[7]. He later renamed his artist name as ASHWYN[8].
