Asian Confluence, is an independent Think-Tank based out of Northeast India, which primarily focuses on the topic of rivers, connectivity, neighborhood, culture and capacity building. The organization conducts track1.5 diplomacy on a regular basis. The Organization has its main office in Shillong and a satellite office in Gurugram.

Origin The Asian Confluence is an initiative of Divya Jeevan Foundation. Divya Jeevan Foundation was conceived and registered by a group of eminent intellectuals and policy makers in 1996, as a society to engage on public policy issues with emphasis on North East and East India.

NADI

Asian Confluence has a flagship program called - NADI (Natural Allies in Development and Interdependence), the international river festival. As a festival, it brings together a multi-track and multi-stakeholder platform to deliberate on the myriad aspects of how rivers influence the ecology, connectivity, trade, politics, culture and people of the region. This includes discussions on policy and practice and celebration of culture and heritage. It has several parallel events and programs including policy dialogue, stakeholder meets, art and culture exhibitions and performances. The festival acts a platform to share, advocate, network, connect and forge collaborations.

The festivals enjoys active participation of policy makers, businesses, civil society, academia, activists, artits and performers.

Till date Asian Confluence has organized three version of NADI. The last NADI was NADI 3, it was held in 2022 in Guwahati city.

Notable Governing Council Members

Riva Ganguly Das Ms. Riva Ganguly Das served as Secretary East in the Ministry of External Affairs prior to her retirement in Dec 2021. Before that, she served as High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh. and the Director General, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)

Rajiv Kumar Bhatia Amb Bhatia is a well known voice on Myanmar.
