Asif Akbar is the first Bangladeshi-American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He began his career in Hollywood and his first directorial full-length feature film was "My Foreign Desh" which was released in 2007 and premiered at the New York International Film and Video Festival in December 2008.

Early life[edit]

Asif Akbar born in Bangladesh. Akbar's favorite hobby as a child with new found technology in the early 90's was making his own movies using a home handy cam and editing tape-to- tape video. Akbar continued to direct and produce independent films and TV productions.

Achievements[edit]

Akbar's documentary film Top Priority: The Terror Within premiered at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills on May 16, 2012.[1]

In his interview, he claimed that his film The Commando good enough and successful as a commercial film.[2][3]
