Ask the Techies

Ask the Techies is an internet TV show (video podcast) about computers and related technology that is typically 10–20 minutes in duration.

Topic categories include iPods, MS Office, photo editing, video editing, Internet resources, web page creation, computer security, computer hardware, and product reviews. In Web 2.0 fashion, Ask the Techies answers viewers tech questions on camera that are sent to their e-mail address.

History[edit]

It was originally created in 2005 as a research project by D.Lee Beard of Ohio University. In 2007, it became a private company. The videos have been produced by D.Lee Beard and various Ohio University staff and students on a volunteer basis.

Reviews[edit]

ComputerWorld listed an episode in their "Top How-to Tech Videos That Won't Cost You a Dime" list.[1] The Chronicle of Higher Education wrote: "The hosts mix humor with geek knowledge."[2] The Ohio Learning Network described the show as "a very informative and informal podcast".[3] Gina Hughes of Yahoo! Tech listed Ask the Techies in her Top 5 Techie "How To" Video Podcasts.[4]
