The Asper School of Business is located on the University of Manitoba, Fort Garry Campus in South Winnipeg, Manitoba. The school began in 1937 as the University of Manitoba Faculty of Management. The school was renamed in 2000 in honour of Izzy Asper, noted for his many contributions to the City of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba over the span of his life. The Asper School of Business has international accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. There are currently 1,900 BComm. students attending the school and close to 22,000 alumni from all programs.
Programs[edit]
The school offers undergraduate and graduate level programs, including Bachelor of Commerce, MBA, Master of Finance, Master of Supply Chain Management and Logistics, MSc and PhD degrees. The Asper School of Business is known for its strong Bachelor of Commerce and MBA programs and was ranked as Canada’s Best 10 MBA Programs by Canada Business News.[1] Its Finance and Accounting programs rank #101 globally by QS Top Universities. The Asper School of Business is committed to experiential learning and regularly achieves international and national-level podium success in business case competitions. The school also offers programs such as Executive Programs, Indigenous Business Education Partners, International Exchange Program and the Co-operative Education Program.
Undergraduate Program[edit]
Every undergraduate student takes the same courses in the core program leadering to a generalist major. To complete a specific major, an addition of four courses applicable to the specific major must be taken. Each student must also take five courses from any area, potentially leading to a double major. The majors currently offered are as follows:[2]

- Entrepreneurship/Innovation (Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship)

- Generalist (mix of major courses)
- Human Resources Management/Industrial Relations

Graduate Program[edit]
The Asper School of Business offers several graduate programs leading to various degrees, these include the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Finance (MFin), Master of Supply Chain Management and Logistics (MSCM), Master of Science in Management (MSc) and PhD in Management. Program length varies from 2 to 6 years depending on the selected program.
Student Association[edit]
The I.H. Asper School of Business has two student organizations. The Commerce Students' Association (CSA) is the student-run organization for undergraduate students, with 64 active members including 8 executive members and 56 internal members. The Asper Professional Graduate Student Association (APGSA) ([1]) is the student-run organization for the graduate students that represent the MBA, Master of Finance and Master of Supply Chain Management and Logistics programs.
