Electronic delivery is administered at Prometric test centres located across Canada and internationally. Candidates taking the electronic format are encouraged to complete an available Electronic Exam Orientation prior to their examination date to familiarise themselves with the testing platform and interface.
Booklet format is offered at select examination sites. Candidates registered for the booklet examination are advised to review the Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge Instructions document in advance of the examination date.

Scoring

The NDEB offers a web-based self-assessment tool to help candidates gauge their readiness for the AFK. The self-assessment consists of 100 multiple-choice questions. Registration
Candidates may register for the AFK once their Equivalency Process application has been approved by the NDEB. Registration is completed through the candidate's NDEBConnect account and follows a three-step process:
- Step 1 – Register and pay
Candidates log in to their NDEBConnect account to register and submit payment for the examination. For candidates taking the paper (booklet) format, no additional steps are required after this stage.
- Step 2 – Notification for electronic exams
For candidates registered for the electronic examination, instructions for scheduling a seat at a Prometric test centre are posted within the candidate's NDEBConnect account under the Documents section after the registration deadline has passed.
- Step 3 – Schedule the electronic exam
Candidates visit Prometric.com, select "Find My Exam," and follow the provided instructions to book their preferred test date, time, and location.
