Association for the defense of animals and nature (ADAN) founded in 2004 in Morocco by Habiba Tazi, is a Moroccan foundation dedicated to the defense and protection of domestic and wild animals against all forms of suffering inflicted by man.

History[edit]

Created on December 13, 2004, and recognized as a public utility in 2014,[1] the association collects animals in distress, abandoned, lost or mistreated in its 10 shelters and 3 SPA houses on Moroccan territory.[2] Animals are cared for by the site team following abandonment, withdrawal for abuse or leaving the pound. Animals (dogs, cats: other pets) are identified, sterilized, vaccinated, housed, cared for, educated and socialized to be offered for adoption.[3]

ADAN, update the various animal trafficking, sources of mistreatment. It raises public awareness of animal welfare.[4] and responsible adoption, and fight to advance the animal cause. At the same time, it educates the generations of tomorrow with pedagogy in respect for animals through its youth clubs.[5] and its interventions in the school and extracurricular environment. In addition, it supports associations and communities in their animal protection projects.[6]

ADAN adopts dogs and cats,[7] keeping the animals in a foster family rather than in an animal shelter Before adopting them. each animal receives medical care, receives vaccines and microchips. and The dogs in the shelters are cared for by animal welfare organizations such as the Society for the Protection of Spa animals in Morocco. [8]

Among its establishments,[9] the Foundation has opened six shelters, five dispensaries, five retirement homes.[10] a reception center for horses and an educational farm.[11]
