Assyrian Renaissance is the cultural revival of Assyrian heritage through visual arts, architecture, design, music, cinema, theater, dance, literature and cuisine. The Assyrian Renaissance is a global phenomenon, happening in countries such as the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East, where Assyrians have settled. The Assyrian Renaissance began in the early 21st century with the Assyrian diaspora's search for identity in the wake of the Assyrian Genocide and displacement. In the past few years, there has been a resurgence of Assyrian identity, as evidenced by the increased production of Assyrian-themed art. This has been accompanied by a growing interest in Assyrian history and culture, as well as a desire to revive and promote Assyrian language and culture. The Assyrian Renaissance is not just about the past, however. It is also about the present and the future. Assyrians are working to create a new identity for themselves, one that is based on their unique history and culture. This new identity is about asserting Assyrian presence in the world and about creating a new future for Assyrians.
