Astaria
Astaria is a MUD (text-based online role-playing game) that has been in operation since 1992. It has a loyal following, and is undergoing a period of reinvention after moving to be hosted on a public cloud (Microsoft) out of Seattle.

Gameplay[edit]
Astaria is a text-based MUD[1]. With a player-guild level system, 9 guilds and 15 races, as well as clans and player-owned estates.
Setting[edit]
Astaria is set in a world beset by Chaos, where only the Harmonic holds the realm together. There are three continents, (at least) five cities, and an ever-expanding world to explore.
Business model[edit]
Since 1992, Astaria has been, and always will be, Free to Play. Donations are accepted but restricted to cosmetic changes.
Technical infrastructure[edit]
Astaria is written in LPC, running on the MUM driver with a highly customized mudlib based on TMI-2.
