Aster CMI is a super specialty hospital located in Hebbal, Bangalore. It is a quaternary care hospital managed by the Aster DM Healthcare group.

The hospital was established when Aster DM group took over the operations of Cauvery Medical Centre in May 2014. It was inaugurated by Sachin Tendulkar.[1].

Started with an investment of rs. 230 crores[2], Aster CMI is a modern medical facility.

Overview[edit]

Aster CMI is situated in Hebbal, at the northern end of the city of Bangalore. Due to their close proximity to the Kempegowda International Airport, they have a seven year agreement with KIAL for management of their medical facilities as well as the initiation of an Airport Medical Care facility[3].

This hospital is a 509-bedded quaternary care medical facility[4] with modern diagnostic and treatment facilities.

Facilities[edit]

Aster CMI provides Centers of Excellence in Cardiac Sciences, Neurosciences, Gastroenterology, General & Laparoscopic Surgery, Integrated Liver Care, Organ Transplant, Urology & Nephrology, Orthopaedics, and Women, Child and Adolescent Health.

It has world-class delivery and LDRP suites, has infrastructure to support haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis[5], 24/7 NABL accredited lab, Radiology, Blood bank & Pharmacy. Aster CMI Hospital features cutting-edge technology such as 3 Tesla MRI with in-bore experience technology as well as an Open MRI, wide-bore one that is less claustrophobic[6]

The hospital is equipped with a 128 Slice CT Scanner and a Hybrid Cath lab and a low radiation CLARITY Cath Lab. The super-speciality Hospital also includes 12 Modular Operation Theatres,  as well as a dedicated transplant ICU and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit[7]. It also has a NABL-accredited clinical lab and a 24-hour blood bank. This is apart from the 110 Intensive Care Units, which includes 16 Critical Care Units (CCU), 35 Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), 20 Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), 12 trauma intensive care units (TICU), 15 level-3 neonatal intensive care units (NICU) and 12 paediatric intensive care unit (PICU).

The hospital also offers advanced treatments to patient using cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic technology, making it one of the few facilities of its kind in Bengaluru. Some of its state-of-the-art facilities include the Da Vinci Robotic surgical system, an advanced neurosurgical technology for Deep Brain Stimulation, EPIQ, and a DEXA for bone density measurement. Apart from these, the hospital also has Image Fusion for guided biopsies and a mammography unit.

The out-patients units deal with consultations, health screenings, immunization, lab and radiology services, and minor surgical procedures.[8]
