Aster Public School Greater Noida
Aster Public School Greater Noida is located in the district of Gautam Buddha Nagar, in Sector-Delta II, Greater Noida city of Uttar Pradesh. One of the most prestigious schools in Greater Noida, Aster Public School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), India’s largest educational board.
History
Founded in 2002 in Greater Noida, Aster Public School is a private institution run by Aster Group of Institutions. At present, Mr. Sunil Kumar Saxena is the Principal while Mrs. Preeti Sharma is the Vice Principal of Aster Public School. It was the second school established under Aster Institutions, the first being Aster Public School Mayur Vihar, Delhi. Started with modest number of students, the school was later upgraded to senior secondary levels, with all three streams- Humanities, Science and Commerce. Aster Pubic School is divided into three wings: Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle and Secondary & Senior Secondary School.
Academics
Aster Public School follows curriculum designed by the CBSE. Subjects taught in the school are- English, Hindi, Maths, Science, Sanskrit/German/French/Spanish (as third language), Physical Education, Economics, Accounts, Business Studies, Political Science, Social Science, History, Geography etc. The school has earned its name as a selective institution for academic excellence. A large number of students of Aster Public School go on to attend engineering colleges such as the IITs, medical colleges such as AIIMS and JIPMER, and law schools such as National Law School of Indian University.
Sports
Seeing the importance of games and sports in enhancing self-esteem and mental alertness, Aster Pubic School offers both indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The school has two football grounds, one basketball court, and cricket nets. Aster Public School also has table tennis, karate and skating facilities. The school organizes various sports events every year.
Co-Curricular Activities
The school organizes a variety of co-curricular activities to supplement the academic programme, such as Music, Science Symposiums, Cultural Events, Physical Education, Dance, Debates, Quizzes, Cricket and Football Tournaments, Theatre, Gardening, Eco Projects, Robotic and many more. In 2014, Priya Rout, a class 12th student of Aster Public School, received a ‘Letter of Thanks’ from the then HRD Minister Mrs. Smriti Zubin Irani for securing 99 marks in CBSE board Physical Education Exam. The school is also the proud 2nd Prize winner of Science Symposium 2012, organized by Ryan International School, Greater Noida.
