Astrid and Lilly Save the World is a Canadian science fiction comedy-drama television series, premiered January 26, 2022 on Syfy[1][2][3][4]

Premise[edit]

High school is hard enough when you're different, but when outcast BFFs Astrid (Jana Morrison) and Lilly (Samantha Aucoin) accidentally crack open a portal to a terrifyingly quirky monster dimension, it gets a lot more complicated. It's up to them to vanquish the creepy creatures and save the world, becoming the badass heroes they were meant to be. That is, if they can survive the horrors of high school.[5]

Cast and Characters[edit]

  • Jana Morrison as Astrid Bell. Feisty, a bit edgy and intelligent beyond all sense. More than just another high school junior, Astrid’s belief in herself and her BFF Lilly gives the pair the confidence to battle all the human and inhuman monsters running around Pine Academy and Coppers Cove.
  • Samantha Aucoin as Lilly Fortenberry. She provides the counter-balance to Astrid. Sweet-natured, kind, and romantic, Lilly shares Astrid's passion for sleuthing and adventure. Together, they are more than best friends – they are soulmates in their battle against the bullies, jocks, and mean girls of Pine Academy. And they’re comrades in arms in the battle to save the universe… and survive their junior year.
  • Olivier Renaud as Brutus. Arriving through an inter-dimensional portal, Brutus appoints himself as Astrid and Lilly’s guide to all things relating to monsters. Sporting a large horn and questionable taste in Earth culture, Brutus is always there to provide sketchy instructions as to how the girls can restore Coppers Cove back to its original monster-free state.
  • Geri Hall as Christine Powell. An unstoppable force, over-protective mom Christine steamrolls over anyone who dares oppose her grand plans, whether they involve her daughter Candace, the alternative sex education teachings at Pine Academy, or her desire for ultimate power.
  • Julia Doyle as Candace Powell. Effortlessly popular, Candace is head mean girl at Pine Academy. Everything comes easy for Candace, until she decides to find her true self.
  • Kolton Stewart as Tate Hudson. Ultimate jock and star soccer player, Big Man on Campus. He and girlfriend Candace are the undisputed King and Queen of Pine Academy but under all the bravado, there’s more to him than meets the eye.
  • Spencer MacPherson as Sparrow Donovan. A sensitive goth-type who marches to the beat of his own drum. The only way to get to know Sparrow is if he lets you, but Astrid is determined to break through his impossible-to-read exterior.
  • Christina Orjalo as Valerie Long. The Ultimate Drama Club Kid, Valerie’s single-minded pursuit of having a successful career in the arts is the air she breathes.
  • Michael McCreary as Egon “Eggs” Walczak. A brilliant and inquisitive “nerd” with a gift for science and Math, an impeccable memory and inability to lie.
