Asunsion Perez (32) is a photographer born and raised in southern california. Perez is currently a full-time student at chaffey college in rancho Cucamonga ca. He is currently working to obtain his AA in photography with goals of owning his own gallery in the near future. Asunsion also is working towards obtaining his AA in Psychology and transferring to Cal state San Bernardino in the fall of 2024 for their social worker program. Perez is married to husband Marcelino Perez III (28). Asunsion had his first taste of the gallery/exhibition world December 2022 he was showcased along other photographers in a group exhibition titled "For your eyes", "Para tus ojos" Through our eyes the world becomes a galley, a fine art photography class exhibition curated by Brice Bischoff at the SASSE museum of Art in Pomona ca. Perez's work was focused on how he sees the world through time lapse photography. He hopes to continue building on his project titled "Blurred Vision I IV III". While continuing to grow in the photography world, Perez's dream is to become a foster care social worker. Perez says "I want to focus on helping our youth in the foster care system with hopes to making a difference to inspire those who feel hopeless to become the change our world desperately needs". Perez did not have the easiest of childhoods, he grew up in a domestic abuse household and addiction. At 17 Perez took his first drink and it all went downhill from there, he battled alcoholism for 14 years and is coming onto his first year alcohol free February 22, 2023. Perez says " My story is only beginning, I feel that the things i went through really helped shape me into the person I am becoming and i can honestly say I love the "new" me."
