Asylumsoft is a video game company founded in 1999 by Jason Ely.
-Early Years- 1984-1993 Back in 1984, Jason Ely set out on a journey to create a Fantasy Role Playing Game on the Commodore 64 home computer. Jason worked day in and day out, learning 6502 Assembly Language and learning about the C64's graphics programming and Sound chip. After many months, Jason had created a Map and Tile editor for his project.
In 1993 after Jason started working at Origin Systems, he decided to revive the project. He rewrote it in C++ and used some Assembly Language on the PC (x86) to recreate the masterpiece. The game engine was complete as well as a simple editing tool.
