Ates Gürpinar
Ates Gürpinar (born 25 September 1984 in Darmstadt) is a German politician in The Left). He is a spokesperson of the Bavarian regional party Die Linke. Bayern, together with Uschi Maxim.
Life and occupation[edit]
Ates Gürpinar studied at the Edith-Stein-Schule in Darmstadt, graduating from there in the year 2003. After this he studied theatere and media studiess, newer German literature and philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, where he later worked[1]. Additionally he had a teaching assignment at the Hochschule Darmstadt[2]. He also was an actor[3].
Party and politics[edit]
Gürpinar has been a member of the party Die Linke(The Left) since 2010. In the year 2012 he became press spokesperson and between 2014 and 2016 he was managing director of the bavarian regional party. Later, in the year 2016 he was elected spokesperson[4], which is a member of the board too. He is a prime candidate for his party in the bavarian regional election 2018, together with Eva Bulling-Schröter[5].
