Atlan is a data workspace platform. Its platform enables data cataloging and discovery, data quality and profiling, data lineage and governance, and data exploration and integrations.[3]

Atlan was founded in 2018 by Prukalpa Sankar and Varun Banka, second-time entrepreneurs.[1]
In July 2019, Atlan raised $2.5 Mn in a Pre-Series A round led by WaterBridge Ventures.[2]
In April 2020, Atlan was selected as one of the 15 startups included in the third cohort of Sequoia Capital India’s accelerator programme for startups, Surge.[4]
In August 2020, Atlan was announced as a winner in the third Annual Accenture Ventures Challenge in the Supply Chain Resilience category.[5]
In October 2020, Atlan was named a Gartner 2020 Cool Vendor in DataOps.[3]
In May 2021, the company raised $16.5M in a Series A round led by Insight Partners and a number of angel investors including Bob Muglia (former CEO of Snowflake Inc), Bob Moore (founder of Stitch), Jake Stein (founder of Stitch), Auren Hoffman (former CEO of LiveRamp), Akshay Kothari (COO of Notion_(productivity_software)), Dan Wright (CEO of DataRobot) and Max Altuscher (Founder, GTMFund and SalesHacker).
