Atlas Ocean Voyages
ATLAS OCEAN VOYAGES[edit]
Atlas Ocean Voyages[1] is the U.S.-based yacht expedition brand of Mystic Invest Holding, which owns and operates a river cruise fleet, hotels and resorts, attractions, helicopter tours, and consumer space travel. Established in April 2019 as Mystic Cruises USA and rebranded as Atlas Ocean Voyages in September 2019[2], the expedition cruise line has its U.S. headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
OWNERSHIP[edit]
Mystic Invest Holding[3] is a family-owned financial holding based in Portugal with multiple brands operating in travel and tourism, such as cruises, tours, hotels, space tourism, and real estate.
Mário Ferreira, founder and chairman of Atlas and Mystic Invest Holding, is a Portuguese entrepreneur with over 30 years in travel and tourism. He serves as the CEO of Mystic Invest Holding and started with DouroAzul, a river cruise line on Portugal’s Douro River. Today, Mystic is the third-largest river cruise operator globally with a fleet of over 40 ships operating in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
In 2019, Ferreira contracted WestSea-Viana shipyard for six 200-guest expedition vessels[4]. He then established Atlas Ocean Voyages, offering luxury yacht-style cruises to remote polar destinations and sought-after ports.

James A. Rodriguez was named president[5] and CEO of Atlas Ocean Voyages on August 1, 2022. With a background in marketing, sales, and sustainability initiatives, Rodriguez brings extensive experience from Crystal Cruises and Oceania Cruises.
