Atlas Volt

Atlas Volt [pronunciation: ˈætləs ˈvoʊlt] are an independent music duo[1] formed in Malmö, Sweden in 2012.[2] [3] [4] The duo was created as a collaboration between British guitarist and sound engineer Adam Hansen-Chambers, and Canadian-Swedish singer-songwriter Philippe Longchamps, recipient of the award “Sweden’s Best Teacher 2020”.[5]

Eventualities

The band’s debut EP, Eventualities,[6] was released in 2013 and the duo’s first song, Shine Your Own Light, became number one on the Swedish National Public Radio chart for unsigned artists after spending five weeks in the top ten chart of P3-Star radio show.[7] According to Philippe Longchamps in a radio interview with Sanna Bråding, he wrote that song as a legacy to his two daughters and his students[8].[9] The band’s debut EP became bestseller for digital purchase on the website Bandcamp three weeks after being released.[10] Atlas Volt also started to collaborate exclusively with the Polish visual artist Andrzej Kuziola [11] in 2012 for all their official artwork.[12] [13] The heaviest song on their debut record, Mother Nature’s Infanticide, and the long prog rock anthem, Find Myself Lost, were also acclaimed by critics from multiple radio shows,[14] newspapers, [15] websites [16] and music blogs.[17] The duo donated 10% of all their earnings from their debut EP to cancer research.[18] Atlas Volt’s music was also distributed on every major digital platform in the world through Record Union.[19] [20] [21] [22]
