Attal (caste)

Attal is a consanguineous namesake associated with the Maheshwari caste. However, they often tried to reclaim a higher status of Jat (Kshatriya) background but remained unsatisfactory. Due to having a strong affinity with other subordinating Vaishya groups[1].[citation needed]
