Atul Sharma
Atul Sharma is an actor based in the UK, known to play a wide variety of roles in blockbuster mainstream movies as well as television, online series, music videos and advertisements.
Now a popular face for the paparazzi, Atul has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Colin Firth, Anthony Hopkins and Jude Law in over seven years of his acting career.
Some of his popular roles include airport security guard in Ra One, a shopper in Desi Boyz, a candidate in Special 26, and a party guest in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, all highly successful movies in Bollywood.
Other movies include Bhoothnath Returns, Welcome 2 Karachi, Shaandaar and a featured role in Hollywood movie The Black Prince. He has also modelled for British Heart Foundation and starred in music videos with One Direction, Sam Smith and Shakka.
An engineer by qualification, Atul is a computer projects engineer at London Heathrow Airport and maintains the IT systems.
Early career
Atul took up acting in 2009 with the show "Thugs, Mugs and Violence", in which he played a gangster bodyguard.
His first major movie was the 2010 multi-starrer Housefull, where he played a guest at the Royal Ball. Directed by Sajid Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film starred Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Ritesh Deshmukh, Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta and Jiah Khan.
The film had a good opening weekend of Rs. 410 million in India. This gave Akshay Kumar his biggest opening till date.
Personal life
Atul was born to Indian parents living in Uttar Pradesh. After completing his early education in India, Atul moved to UK for further studies, and went on to finish his engineering. He has two sisters, both living in UK, and still has strong family ties in India.
He is married, and has a son and a daughter.
Atul also does charity work and it a founder member of Overseas Indian Association providing free education to 500 children in Uttar Pradesh, India.
