Augmented Information (锐革信息咨询有限公司) is an advisory firm specializing in investigations and security consulting.[1][2] The company primarily operates from its Shanghai and Singapore offices although its coverage extends to the wider Asia Pacific region as well as parts of the Middle East and Africa.

Augmented Information was founded in 2015 by Tom Niu, a former director at Control Risks’ Shanghai office. The company's initial team consisted of a number of former Control Risks employees. It has since recruited staff from other backgrounds, including media, financial services and military.
The company primarily focused on due diligence services at its inception. It has since expanded its capabilities to include compliance investigation, crisis management, threat assessment, travel security, executive protection and incident response. Its clients include both multinational companies and large Chinese firms.
Hong Kong & Singapore office[edit]
Augmented Information's Hong Kong entity was officially registered on 16 October 2014[3] but the Hong Kong company had no operations until late 2015.
In November 2018, the company established its Singapore office.[4]
Merger talks[edit]
In early 2018, the company was in talks with a private equity-backed newly founded security group in Beijing for a potential merger. Augmented Information later pulled out from the talks due to differences in opinion regarding the strategic directions of the group. As of February 2019, the company remains independent and has no outside investment.
Management[edit]
Tom Niu is a British-educated Chinese national. He obtained his BSc from the London School of Economics (LSE) and MSc from University of Bristol. He also studied at Bromsgrove School in Worcestershire, UK.
