August Melvina

August Melvina (artist)

August Melvina (born 8 November) is a British artist based in London. She has gained recognition for her graffiti which can be seen all over London and then moved on to digital prints and guerrilla style distribution techniques.

Early Life

August stated in a 2017 interview that she attended art classes as a child with Donna Bompas in the London Borough of Bromley. This is what sparked her interest in art, she claims to have earned money throughout her teen years by painting pictures of her neighbours pets.

Career

August's work has been steadily gaining notoriety since late 2014 when she began selling her art on Bayswater Road. In September 2018 it was announced that she would be teaming up with start up company Switch Decor Limited on exclusive digital prints, this is her first collaboration with a company.
