Aureole 2

Aureol 2 (Russian: Ореол-2) was a Soviet spacecraft launched to continue investigations in the Earth’s upper atmosphere at high latitudes and to study the nature of polar aurora begun on board the Aureol 1 satellite in 1971. It launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome aboard a Kosmos rocket on 26 December 1973.[1]
