Austin Yip (Yip Ho Kwen Austin, 葉浩堃, b. 1985.[1]), composer and multimedia artist[2]. His works investigate the relationship between literature and sound, as well as the meaning of connotation and denotation through musical and visual means.[3] Notable works include Por Por (chamber opera)[4], Metamorphosis (orchestral work)[5], Miles Upon Miles (violin and electronics)[6], and Ballet de la nuit: Eurydice (electroacoustic)[7].
Awards and honors[edit]
Yip is a MacDowell fellow[8], and has resided at the MacDowell studio. He was awarded the Award for Young Artist (Music) by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in 2021[9], and the CASH Golden Sail Music Award (Serious Music) for his orchestral work Metamorphosis in 2017[10]
