The Australian Independent Dirt Karting Association (AIDKA) grew out of the South Australian Independent Dirt Kart Association[1] [2]as an incorporated association [3] formed in 1985 to control and administer the dirt kart racing in Australia.

The purposes of the AIDKA as outlined on its constitution include:

  • to promote and advance the sport of kart racing on dirt
  • to promote fair and honorable practices and excellence in the sport
  • to promote positive cooperation between all members for the good of the sport
  • to act with other Associations and like sporting bodies to our mutual welfare
  • to promote and oversee dirt kart race meetings and other events for the benefit of the members
  • to do all such acts which, in the best considered opinion of the Association, protect the sport and guard the best interest of its members

The AIDKA Inc has 19 member clubs as of 2021[4] across Australia including Northern Territory, South Australia, Queensland, Western Australia[5] under which the various clubs hold local, State Titles NT,SA,QLD,WA) and National Title race meetings.

The member clubs of AIDKA all had various origins and found they had a common need for the new national body.

  • Dirt Trackers Kart Club originally an AKA member, switched to AIDKA in 1992 [6]
  • Morgan Dirt Kart Club[7]
