Australian Poppy Oak
Poppy Oak is the common name for a beautiful Australian feature Hardwood timber, sustainably sourced from re-growth forests of Victoria & southern NSW. Australian Poppy Oak is a mixed species of Eucalypts including Eucalyptus regnans Eucalyptus regnans (Mountain Ash), Eucalyptus obliqua Eucalyptus obliqua (Messmate), Eucalyptus sieberi Eucalyptus sieberi (Silvertop Ash), Eucalyptus fastigata Eucalyptus fastigata (Brown Barrel) & Eucalyptus delegatensis Eucalyptus delegatensis (Alpine Ash).
Selected logs are often affected by drought, bushfire & bug attacks which only enhance the appearance of its natural signature of beautiful wild grain & feature gum vein.
Natural colouring ranges from a golden straw to a deep brown and can include pinkish highlights to beautiful sandy tones. Commonly finished with a natural clear lacquer, Poppy Oak also lends itself to timber stains to further enhance its beautiful natural colour.
