Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure
Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure (AAI) refers to a service and a procedure to allow members of different institutions access to protected information services that are distributed on different web servers. The Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure verifies that a person is authorized to access a resource, with the audit not being based on a central registry, but on the home organization of the person requesting access to the resource.
