Auto EVO

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Auto EVO, known simply as EVO,[1] is an Italian car manufacturer, founded in 2020 in Macchia d'Isernia, Molise, by the entrepreneur Massimo Di Risio born from the spin-off of the DR brand, relocated higher in the new structure of the DR Automobiles Groupe which attributes the economic segment of the market to EVO.

Just like the parent company, It imports cars (assembled in China under licence, commonly JAC Motors and Chery) and the rebadging and adaptation take place in Italy.

History[edit]

In 2020 the DR group diversifies its product offer: the DR brand, relocated to a higher market segment, is joined by the unprecedented EVO brand, with which the Molise group intends to maintain low prices in the face of rich equipment.

The first car marketed by EVO is a small SUV (belonging to segment B), the EVO Electric, a rebranded and re-approved version according to European standards of the Chinese JAC iEV7s, an electric version of the JAC Refine S2. The vehicle was presented online on April 15, 2020.[2]

In the following month the range of the brand expands, absorbing from the DR the DR4 , DR EVO5 (new name of the DR 5) and DR 6 crossovers which take the names EVO 4, EVO 5 and EVO 6 respectively.

In 2021 the EVO Electric is slightly modified, and changes its name to EVO 3 Electric.  The EVO 3 version with traditional engines is presented at the Milano Monza Open-Air Motor Show, equipped with a different aesthetic and a 1.5 naturally aspirated engine with bi-fuel petrol-LPG and a 5-speed manual gearbox.[3]

In the same year, the exit from the price list of the EVO 6 must be reported, due to the production exit of the model on which it was based, the Chery Tiggo 5.
