Autogov is a proposed platform for political, economic, and social organization that seeks to address the need for change in the way communities govern themselves in the 21st century.
According to its founders, the world is experiencing rapid and accelerating change, but the ways in which communities are organized to reflect the wills of their members and achieve their goals has remained largely unchanged for the past two centuries.
Autogov aims to harness the power of the internet to create a more efficient and effective way for communities to govern themselves, approaching the project of universal ethics and happiness as a philosophical engineering problem and formulating a minimal meta algorithm to enable communities to live, enjoy life, create, change, love, expand, and develop in a soft and efficient flow.
The platform is divided into three sections: Politics, Economy, and Social, which can work together or function independently depending on the needs and preferences of the community.
The Politics section enables communities to make decisions through a process called Vontests, which involve a question, raised by anyone anytime, multiple answers, structured debate, and cumulative voting.
The Economy section includes a Creative Market, an internal virtual currency, and a universal basic income and public fund to empower the community to achieve its goals.
The Social section is a space for culture, collaboration, and friendly competition where members can communicate, express creativity, form partnerships, and participate in gamified activities.
Autogov is intended to be an open-source metasystem that is freely accessible and can be used in any way by communities. It is not a profit-seeking company or a traditional hierarchical organization, but rather is focused on empowering communities of any size to govern themselves in a more democratic and decentralized way.
Autogov was created in 2016 in Barcelona by philosopher and democracy apps creator Zury Asse.
