Autokid Subic Trading Corporation, ASTC, Autokid Truck Solutions, or Autokid is a Philippines-based corporation and dealer of trucks. Autokid operates mainly in Subic but is headquartered in Quezon City, Philippines.[2] [1]
Autokid is also an authorized distributor of trucks from Dongfeng Motors in the Philippines.[5] [6]
History
Founding and rebranding
Autokid Subic Trading Corporation (shortened as ASTC) started as a dealer of second-hand cars online. ASTC was founded by businessmen Kevin McHale Yao, Marvin Tiu Lim, and Eric Lim who are still serving the company as Chief Executive Officer, President, and Executive Vice President respectively. In 2014, the company saw that the competitive landscape proved favorable for trucks. They then shifted their main business from distributing second-hand cars to surplus trucks.[3] [2] [4]
Partnerships
At the start of the year 2019, Autokid named Filipino-British journalist James Deakin as its brand ambassador.[7] [4]
In May 2019, Standard Insurance became the key insurance provider of Autokid.[2]
In June 2019, Autokid hosted a launching ceremony to announce its partnership with the China-based motors and truck manufacturer Dongfeng.[5] [6]
Within the same year, the company announced that Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation is its official provider of lubricants for motor vehicles.[8]
In 2020, Autokid partnered with automotive battery-provider Emtrac Plus Philippines.[9]
In March 2021, Fuso Philippines announced that it made Autokid a genuine spare parts retailing partner in the country.[10]
Aside from partnerships with manufacturers of trucks and heavy equipment, Autokid also signed deals with truck engine providers China Yuchai International, Weichai, and Cummins.[11]
Corporate profile
Autokid is accredited by the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission.[3] [12]
Autokid also has an internal information technology team that manages its Enterprise Resource Planning system powered by NetSuite-Oracle.[1]
Locations
Autokid has its headquarters in Quezon City, but it mainly operates in Subic.[2]
The company’s flagship facility is located in Guiguinto in Bulacan. Dubbed ‘Truck City’, the facility has enough service bays to accommodate 80 trucks of all sizes at once.[12]
