Autria Godfrey (born December 28, 1983) is an American anchor at ABC7 News affiliate WJLA-TV. She was born in Henderson, TX.[1] [2] She attended Texas A&M University in College Station, TX and graduated in 2006 with a BS in Journalism. She completed the Washington Semester Program at American University in the Spring of 2006.

Career

Her first job out of college was at WCAV in Charlottesville, VA where she worked for 2 years as a reporter and morning anchor. She moved to Washington DC in 2008 and freelanced for Tribune Broadcasting Washington DC Bureau and CBS News. She began producing jobs at Fox News in 2008.[3] [4] She left to join WJLA-TV in 2011 as a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor. She moved to anchor of Good Morning Washington in 2013. In 2019 she bid farewell to have a baby. [5]

Achievements

She is a three-time Emmy award winner. Washington Life Young & the Guest List 2018 and 2019[6][not in citation given]
