The Happiness is Calling Foundation[edit]
Established in 2019, the Happiness is Calling Foundation is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity. The Foundation's mission is to bring hope and uplift the spirits of ill or sick children through the gift of toys and tools to improve their lives.
Governed by a board of directors composed of local township leaders, veterans, Army Reserve, and successful federal government leaders from across the nation, the Foundation's professional staff is headquartered in Woodbridge, Virginia, about 25 miles south of Washington, DC.
Comprising compassionate volunteers, the Foundation aims to bring communities together to enhance the lives of children. They collect new or lightly used toys and tools and distribute them to less fortunate children at places of care. Their mission is to bring smiles, inspire hope, and improve the lives of children facing life-threatening illnesses and distressing childhoods.
The Foundation engages in various fundraising projects annually, including national corporate sponsors and online campaigns. Their activities are divided into two main categories: the collection of toys and tools and their distribution to children in need. Local volunteers support coordinators in conducting toy collection and distribution within their communities. Toy collection includes locally donated toys, those purchased by the Foundation, and corporate donations. The team strives to maximize impact with minimal resources.
Additionally, the Foundation conducts an annual public information and education campaign aimed at informing the general public about the benefits that accrue to individuals, communities, and the nation from their initiatives.
