Avalahalli state forest

Located in Banashankari stage I, Banashankari, Bengaluru, Karnataka, this forest is mainly surrounded by small farms, encroaching housing developments and two large-campus secondary schools. The forest consists of eucalyptus trees, a remnant of previous farming. Currently the status of the forest is changing as developers are conintuing to fence and better define farm lands. There is one main gate located new the I aim Healthcare Centre, that does have a guard shack, this gate is mainly open, yet due to recent activity the gate is being locked. Currently there are many dump trucks piling up piles of earth in one area of the park. There are main other unofficial entrances that are used by recreational users (walking, biking scooters) and by goat/sheep herders and farmers. These can be found by following any well traveled path that tends to head towards the trees.

This park has also been a place for organised running races and well as mountain biking races run by Bangalore Bicycling championships

There are a number of birds peacocks that live in the forest as well as packs of wild dogs and of course snakes. The state forest is surrounded by roads, little villages and an area used as a public dump.
