Aviostart Airlines Ltd. is private Bulgarian air charter company based in Sofia, Bulgaria operating private charter services and cargo flights. The airline operates from Sofia Airport.
History[edit]
The airline was established in February 1999 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2000 the airline approvals to operate passenger and cargo flights. In the beginning the company operated with two Antonov An-24 turboprop aircraft and one Mil Mi-8 helicopter. From 2000 to 2003 Aviostart operated flights on behalf of the United Nations and Kosovo Force with flights from Kosovo to other destinations in the Balkans. In recent years the airline has operated mainly private charter flights with its Piaggio P.180 Avanti and Piper PA-34 Seneca aircraft. In May 2012 the first British Aerospace 146 was delivered.[1]
