Axentius Milutinovich von Millovsky also Aksentije Milutinović (Serbian: Аксентије Милутиновић; Stara Gradiška, Slavonia, Austrian Empire, 1740 - 21 November 1798) was an Austrian senior officer of Serbian ancestry.
Biography[edit]
Axentius Milutinovich appears as the founder of the baronial family, who was born around 1740 on the Austrian military border, joined the Petrovaradin Military Grenz Infantry Regiment in 1756, and, from the peak of his service, advanced to colonel. On 21 July 1760, he became an ensign, on 1 May 1768 lieutenant in the German-Illyrian (Banat) Regiment, on 21 July captain in the Petrovaradin Regiments; second major on 22 February 1786, major on 26 April 1788, lieutenant colonel on 25 September 1789 and colonel in the regiment on 8 February 1794. During his many years of service, he distinguished himself several times, for example in the Seven Years' War, in the Turkish war, especially in the siege of fortresses of Šabac and Belgrade. For his services, he was raised to the hereditary nobility in 1796 - and not, as it is called in the "Genealogical Almanac of Baronial Houses" 1866, pp. 642 and 643., to the imperial knighthood - with the predicate of "von Millovský". However, as historian Ivan Nagy mentions in his Magyarország családai, vol. VII, p. 505, he received the Hungarian nobility in the same year. In addition to several daughters, Axentius left two sons, Theodor and Paul. The current marital status of the Milutinovich came from Theodor, who was raised to the baron status as a result of the Knight's Cross of the Military Order of Maria Theresa with a diploma on 12 December 1815.
His son Freiherr Theodor had three sons Michael, Alexander, and Joseph, and daughter Maria Anna. Michael and Alexander of the sons remained on the battlefield in the Italian and Hungarian Revolution of 1848; now only Joseph, his sister Maria Anna and the widows of the two aforementioned Michael and Alexander. The current marital status is, therefore: Joseph Milutinovich von Millovsky, Baron von Weichselburg, Lieutenant Colonel retired, married to Elise, née von Palik-Ursevny; the widows of his two brothers, Michael (d. 1849): Clara née von Manassy, and Alexander (d. 1849): Julia née von Sevils; and Joseph’s sister Maria Anna (born 6 May 1806), married (since 19 June 1825) to Baron Alexander Jović von Stegenberg, k. k. General-Major retired, divorced since 1836.
Ancestry[edit]
Sima Milutinović Sarajlija and Aksentije Milutinović come from the same family tree branch.
