Ayesha Aror

Ayesha Aror (Arabic: عيشة عرور) was the first woman to drive in Yemen and the Arabian Peninsula. The driving journey started when she worked on a taxi in Aden in 1948. She received many certificates of appreciation and was honored by the Traffic Department of Aden in 2006, where she did not take any ticket during half a century of her work as a taxi driver. Ayesha Station in Aden was named after Ayesha Aror. Ayesha passed away in late 2013.[1]
