Ayobami Feyisetan Oyalowo
Ayobami Feyisetan Oyalowo was born about forty years ago in Kano, to the family of Mr and Mrs Joshua and Ruth Oyalowo, an indigene of Ogbomoso North in Oyo State. He is the first of four children, three males and a female.
Originally a Baptist by birth, Ayo, as he is fondly called, is a deeply intelligent and astute man, a man of deep faith who believes nothing is impossible with God.
He is married to Yetunde - a medical doctor. They are blessed with two children; Fiyinfoluwa and Fopefoluwa.
Ayobami had most of his early schooling in northern Nigeria. He had his primary school in Kano and his secondary education in Jos, Plateau State before proceeding to the University of Ilorin in Kwara State. On completion of the compulsory youth service, he proceeded to Chellerams Plc where he had a brief stint before moving to banking. His banking career kicked off under the robust leadership of Mr Tony Elumelu of defunct Standard Trust Bank (now United Bank for Africa). He later worked at various other banks, including the then Trust Bank (now Sterling Bank), Guaranty Trust Bank, Access Bank ,amongst others.
He also had stint at some indigenous Oil firms before delving into communications and politics. His highest point came when he was nominated to serve on the presidential campaign council of the former Nigeria's main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress - APC, in 2015, where he served as the deputy director of media and publicity of the campaign . He also doubled as the chairman of the digital and social media committee.
Through his contribution and that of other volunteers, the APC won the 2015 presidential election, and for the first time in the history of Nigeria, an opposition party defeated an incumbent president to form a new government.
After the election, Ayobami went into private media consulting as the owner and CEO of Bridgegate Communications. He currently works with the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System For Agricultural Lending. (NIRSAL Plc), as the Head of Strategic Communications under The Corporate Communications Department.
