Azeem Azhar is a British entrepreneur, investor and adviser. He founded PeerIndex in 2009 in 2014. In 2015 Azeem started a weekly newsletter, Exponential View.

Early life and education[edit]

Azeem received BA (Hons) degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford in 1994.

Career[edit]

From September 1994 to March 1996, Azeem was a corresponded to The Guardian. From 1997 to 1999, Azhar was the strategy manager for BBC Online during its formation and launch period.

In 2009, Azeem founded PeerIndex, an early machine learning company providing social media influencer analytics. In 2012, the startup won the Europas Grand Prix [1] and two years later was acquired by Brandwatch [2]. In 2015, Azeem launched one of the first weekly newsletters focused on exponential technologies and their impact on the society, Exponential View [1].

Azeem was a member of the Ofcom Consumer Panel between 2005 and 2007.[3] He was appointed a member of the Cairncross Committee to Review the Sustainability of the Press in 2017. [4]
