Běla Kolčáková (born 27 September 1937) is an academic painter.
Biography[edit]
Běla Kolčáková studied at the School of Fine Arts, Prague between 1952 and 1956 under the professor V. Rada. Then she lived with her husband, painter Ignác Kolčák in the northern Slovak region of Orava, until 1978, when she moved to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The actual surroundings were always important inspiration for her works. While in early years in Prague she was experimenting with structural painting, Orava period can be characterized by lyrical landscapes, expressing serenity, peace, tranquillity, dreams and many other elements of poetry in the visual arts, focusing on the secrets of a woman's soul. Besides painting she illustrated books and created collages and art protises.[1]
